Prenuptial Agreement – Derby Solicitors

What is a Prenuptial Agreement?

This is for couples who are about to marry or enter a civil partnership.

The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for division of property and spousal support in the event of divorce or breakup of marriage.The Courts are not obliged under UK law to keep to the agreement but unless there have been significant changes it is likely to be upheld.

We will obtain the information from you and draft a binding agreement for your signature.

To be valid;

1.each party has to have independent legal advice
2. each party must be entering the agreement voluntarily
3. the agreement must be signed at least 21 days prior to any wedding or civil partnership ceremony
