Divorce (uncontested) – Derby Solicitors

How much does a divorce cost?
As Legal Aid has been abolished for matrimonial cases we have designed a low cost service for clients wishing to obtain legal representation in divorce and matrimonial disputes without having to spend a fortune. We offer a fixed fee for simple uncontested divorces the amount of which varies depending on whether you are the petitioner or the respondent.

What is the advantage of a fixed fee?

Additional Fees for Contested issues
If there are additional issues to be resolved (e.g. sorting out a financial agreement, advice on contact to children, not being able to trace the other party, the other party denying receipt of the papers, needing to obtain a private detective and so on) we will charge for this additional work. However, any extra costs will be discussed and agreed with you before any work is undertaken. We are willing to agree fixed cost ceilings and a competitive hourly rate (currently our hourly rate is £75.00).
